To make cement you need rocks. Because of the geological property of Rhine County Neuss there are a number of rock quarries scattered throughout the countryside that provide cement companies with their much needed rocks.
Then these deep quarries run out of usable stones and the cement companies move on they leave behind an instant beautiful, clear blue, fresh water lake - ideal for serious windsurfing. Check with the local windsurfing clubs for details. Surf's up!
Setting sail and letting the wind in your hair is also possible in Rhine County Neuss because some of those ex-quarries are so large that you can spend a whole afternoon practicing for the America's Cub. You don't even have to bring your own boat because a few of these beautiful "lakes" rent jolly boats. Put the Raybans on, slip into the sneekers and get in touch with a sailing club. They're just as crazy about sailing as you are.
