The Igedo Company, the AMD academy of fashion and design Dusseldorf and the German karriere magazine promote promising designer.
Creative competition “Design am Rhein” (design on the Rhine) is supported by the Igedo Fashion Fairs and star choreographer Bruce Darnell during the Igedo Fashion Fairs.
“Discovering and promoting the young fashion scene” is a successful competition run during the Igedo Fashion Fairs This show is supported and promoted by the Igedo Fashion Fairs award Dusseldorf, AMD academy of fashion and design Dusseldorf and karriere, the young job magazine and business magazine from the publishing company group Handelsblatt.
Nine promising designers have qualified with their collections for the finale on 22 July at 3.00 pm in the Fashion Gallery, catwalk café, hall 14. The prominent jury consisting of Bruce Darnell (star choreographer, widely known from Heidi Klum's TV show "Germany's Next top model "), Sarah Dudda (Joop), Ela Holscher (Dusseldorf ELA), Andreas Hoyer and Andreas Scherpereel (Heimat) as well as Gudrun Allstädt (editor Textilwirtschaft) will select the five prize winners.
The awarded top talents for contemporary design will get opportunity to present their collections at the Igedo Fashion Fairs in Dusseldorf in spring 2008. Igedo will offer them an exhibition area in the creative centre of the fashion fairs. In addition, all winners can participate in the Gallery Designer-Show. The winner can introduce his/her label on the CPM in Moscow and will be able to gain international contacts in an exciting, ambitious environment.
The competition “Design am Rhein” will be held again in spring 2008. Promising designers are, nationwide and from all countries, warmly invited to participate.

• Tjelma by Lisa Winkel(Independant Fashion Designer; own Label:Tjelma)
• Batmunkh Bataa (Student of the art college Berlin-Weißensee, Department of Fashion Design)
