In New York the taxis are yellow (sometimes green). In London they're black (sometimes maroon). Here they're white (actually ivory). In New York the taxis are big (typical American). In London they are small (with lots of room inside).
In Neuss most are Mercedes Benz (luxuriously roomy). The taxi drivers in Neuss are no more friendly - or unfriendly - than those in New York or London. (It goes with the trade.) Like New York and London, most of the drivers in Rhine County Neuss speak English and understand hand signs pretty good.
You can wave down a taxi (just like New York or London) but the region also has many taxi stands and if there isn't a taxi waiting you can use a fixed phone at the stand that will connect you directly to dispatch.
