This town with a population of about 63,500 is the location of international industrial companies such as Bayer and Lustran Polymers.
In contrast the town is in general characterised by ancient architecture seen in the historical part called Zons with its interesting ruins of fortifications and the monastery of Knechtsteden. About one million visitors take a look at Dormagen’s sights each year
