Landscape of the Rhine County Neuss area is strongly influenced by the busiest waterways of Europe, the Rhine River.  With 1,320 kilometers or 820 miles, it's one of the longest and most important rivers for domestic economy in Europe. Neuss has one of the largest inland harbors of Germany on the Rhine.

The Erft is one of many tributaries of the Rhine. Its source is up in Ahrgebirge in the Eifel. It's 103km long, flows in north-eastern direction and ends in the Rhine by Neuss-Grimlinghausen. There are numerous extended cycle tracks along this beautiful river. There's also plenty to see: castles, palaces, monasteries and convents. There's an open air art museum Insel Hombroich, Island Hombroich and hundreds of opportunities to merely relax and enjoy nature.

The Nette is a small, picturesque river in the Lower Rhine area. It flows through the lakes on the Nette and ends it's journey by Wachtendonk. The small river shapes a delightful landscape of the countryside and invites holidaymakers to enjoy the pleasure of fresh air and magnificent scenery.
